Counseling for Depression

When everything feels heavy, a steady, caring counselor can help you take the next step.

What depression can feel like

  • Feeling sad, empty or numb most days
  • Losing interest in things you used to enjoy
  • Feeling tired no matter how much you rest
  • Pulling away from family, friends or church
  • Feeling hopeless, or like a burden

If you are thinking about suicide or hurting yourself, please call or text 988 now, any time, day or night. In an emergency, call 911.

How counseling can help

We start by listening. Then, at a pace that feels manageable, we work on small, practical goals that help you move forward. Feeling this way doesn’t mean you are weak or that your faith has failed. Counseling can also work alongside care from your doctor.

“God doesn’t intend for us to live a life of misery, but one of JOY.”

Daryle Hines

Faith, if you want it

My counseling is Christ-centered. If you’d like, scripture and prayer can be part of our sessions, alongside practical tools for change. If you’re not a Christian, or not sure what you believe, you’re welcome here just the same. You decide how much faith is part of your counseling.

How to get started

Call me at 704-535-2224 for a free 15-minute phone consultation, or email darylehineslpc@gmail.com. We’ll talk briefly about what’s going on and whether I’m the right fit for you. There are no forms to fill out online.

Sessions are 50 minutes, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, in person at my office in Mint Hill or by telehealth if you live in North Carolina. The fee is $140 per session, and I provide superbills for insurance. See fees and insurance.

The first step

Start with a free 15-minute phone consultation

Tell me a little about what’s going on, ask any questions, and see whether we’re a good fit. No pressure and no cost.

If you are in crisis

Call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, any time, day or night. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Phone messages and email are not monitored for emergencies.
