Faith and clinical care, together

Daryle Cox Hines is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with more than 35 years of experience. For decades she served as a counselor at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church Counseling Center in Charlotte, walking with individuals, couples and families through some of the hardest seasons of their lives. She has also worked at The Family Connection and The Christian Connection.

She received Pastoral Counselor Training at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, where she volunteered in the psychiatric ward for four years. Today she sees clients at Tabonuco Counseling and Consulting in Mint Hill, and by telehealth across North Carolina.

“God doesn’t intend for us to live a life of misery, but one of JOY.”

Her approach

Her work is grounded in Dr. William Glasser’s Reality Therapy and Choice Theory: focusing on what you can choose and change today, and building a practical plan to get there. She also draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Therapy (RET), Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, and ideas from the Gottman Method for couples.

Her counseling is Christ-centered, and welcoming to everyone. Scripture and prayer can be part of the work for those who want them.
