Counseling for Anxiety

When worry won’t let go, you don’t have to carry it alone.

What anxiety can feel like

Anxiety shows up differently for everyone. You might notice:

  • Racing or looping thoughts you can’t switch off
  • Trouble sleeping, or waking up already tense
  • A tight chest, an upset stomach or restlessness
  • Avoiding people, places or decisions
  • Feeling on edge or easily overwhelmed

These are common experiences, not a diagnosis. Our first conversations help us understand what’s going on for you.

How counseling can help

Together we’ll look at what’s feeding the worry and focus on what you can choose and change today, one practical step at a time. My approach draws on Reality Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which look at how our thoughts, choices and actions connect.

Faith, if you want it

My counseling is Christ-centered. If you’d like, scripture and prayer can be part of our sessions, alongside practical tools for change. If you’re not a Christian, or not sure what you believe, you’re welcome here just the same. You decide how much faith is part of your counseling.

How to get started

Call me at 704-535-2224 for a free 15-minute phone consultation, or email darylehineslpc@gmail.com. We’ll talk briefly about what’s going on and whether I’m the right fit for you. There are no forms to fill out online.

Sessions are 50 minutes, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, in person at my office in Mint Hill or by telehealth if you live in North Carolina. The fee is $140 per session, and I provide superbills for insurance. See fees and insurance.

The first step

Start with a free 15-minute phone consultation

Tell me a little about what’s going on, ask any questions, and see whether we’re a good fit. No pressure and no cost.

If you are in crisis

Call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, any time, day or night. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Phone messages and email are not monitored for emergencies.
